How to practice it most effectively: By knowing what each interval sounds like (e.g., a minor second, major second, minor third, major third, perfect fourth, perfect fifth, minor sixth, major sixth, minor seventh and major seventh) — practice going back and forth between both notes of the interval, trying to increase your accuracy in ‘nailing it’ on the first try.
