Hi Everyone,

Here are your assignments for this week;

What to practice:

Diatonic(in the key) Chords

I major, II minor, III minor, IV major, V major, VI minor

Tresa

Recommended minutes to practice: 15 min/day

What to practice: Chord Transitions and Strumming

How to practice it most effectively: Try isolating one of the chord changes in a song, and go back and forth between 2 chords. Use a metronome and try different speeds (20-100). Try the strumming pattern we looked at (down down, down up down up / 1 2 3+4+)

Van

Recommended minutes to practice: 10 min/day

What to practice: 1st position fingering (1st finger/1st fret, 2nd/2nd, 3rd/3rd, 4th/4th). Also work on timing, review from Nov 9.

How to practice it most effectively: Check fingerings. For timing take a small section (1 or 2 chunks) and try repeating it, keeping space between the notes even, without breaks between the notes.

How parents can support practice: Encourage Van to continue picking up the guitar and taking a look at his lesson materials.

Maurya

Recommended minutes to practice: 15 min/day

What to practice: Kashmir

How to practice it most effectively: Check to make sure each note is ringing out. Check that the right fret is sounding. Use a tuner to tune up and get each string as close to in tune as you can.

How parents can support practice: Encourage Maurya to continue picking up the guitar and taking a look at his lesson materials.

Have a good week everyone!
