IMPORTANT: Dec. 6 & 13 Cancelled • Director’s Note
Hello Giulianna’s Monday & Saturday students!
Giulianna has had a wonderful opportunity to do some live performing – the first since the lockdowns began – this month.
I decided that it would be best to accommodate this, since she (along with other team members) have been severely constrained from the part of their artistic activity that is so vital to feeding their wellbeing as musicians.
This means that the following dates will be cancelled:
- Monday December 3 & 13
- Saturday December 11
Monday students have had their billing adjusted for the month of December.
Saturday students will be assigned to the make-up schedule where possible in December, and any additional owed make-ups will be carried forward into March Break (or June, if that should prove necessary).
Please watch for an email with details about the make-up week coming later this week, or early next.
Regular lessons resume in January.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us in the office at 416-525-6473. Thank you!

Good work Fiona with the songs in the book this week. During our lesson we talked about how to find your location on the piano. First thing to look for is reading all of the notes in the song. Next you should clap and count the rhythm of each note before you play. After you have done that you now should look for the finger numbers above and below the beginning notes. This will tell you where to place your hands. Take your time while going through these steps and be sure to ask for help if you really can’t find where to start!

Homework:
Good work in our lesson, be sure to work on Eb Major this week. First figure out how many flats belong in Eb Major then use the finger numbers we wrote down in class to help you. As for songs, we are going to continue our work on This is Not Jingle Bells. While working on it this week try to keep each section moving without stopping in between each phrase. You may also continue Kite in the Sky and A Mixed up song. Look through the letter names to be sure you play all the correct notes for each song. I would suggest you do this for all of your songs to be sure you are not playing incorrect notes.
