Hannah’s Homework Sept. 16-22, 2015

Hello Piano Explorers and Parents

Dany
No need to purchase the book yet. I will print out handouts for you as needed. Please bring a binder to the next class so we can keep all the handouts together.

Milena
We learned about the different types of “rests” in music, and completed some work in her theory book. Please take a look at Milena’s goals handout, and write down some goals you have for Milena for this school year (what you hope she achieves or works toward). Thanks!

Veda
Say the note names as you play (you can see their names inside the noteheads). Remind her of the little fairy that lives under her hand. If her hand is flat, the fairy gets squashed!

Zoe
We worked on two songs (handouts), reviewing note names and their location on the keyboard. Remind Zoe about the little fairy that lives under her hand. If her hand is flat, the fairy gets squashed!

Rachel
Play “Swan Lake” smoothly. For “Dance of the Martians”, plan ahead where the hands move so you can get there on time.

Eduardo
Wonderful playing in “Morning Theme”. Move your LH up to find the correct keys in “Old Macdonald”. In your new song, “Snake Dance” remember to hold the tied LH notes.

Alyssa
We started the first song in the new book. Thank you for writing down your goals for Alyssa, especially because Alyssa comes alone to the lesson. We will definitely play some Christmas songs!

Thanks everyone and enjoy the last of the summer !
