What to practice: BB King Solo, Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd

How long to practice: 10-15 minutes daily

Keys to effective practice: While practicing the BB King solo be sure to chunk and recognize the solo for all its parts and phrases. The snippets that comprise the entirety of the solo are what we’ll be using as we develop solos and lines down the road. For Wish You Were Here refer to the simplified tablature linked above to hopefully clarify everything!

What to practice: Up to and including Rockin’ Robin

How long to practice: 10 minutes daily

Keys to effective practice: Remember to count out the beats and recall what each note is worth. It might be helpful to write the beats out underneath the music to help keep track of which beat/number lands where in the music (ie: 1, 2, 3, 4).

What to practice: Wish you were here by Pink Floyd

How long to practice: 10-15 minutes daily

Keys to effective practice: For the solo of this song  I want you to focus on connecting it to the shape of the Major Pentatonic box. It’s almost entirely performed within this shape and is one of the more useful scales to know on the guitar because of its proximity to the minor scale which sits just below it. Focus on playing it with good time and really nailing those double stop parts.
