Hello everyone,

Here are your practice assignments for this week:

Ella

“The homework you have done last week was fantastic! You utilised the all drums in to your fill compositions.”

Recommended minutes to practice: 20-30 minutes per day

What to practice: To begin with, compose more fills with different rhythms that you can think of. and practice with basic drum beat you are comfortable with.

How to practice: *Please take a moment to think about the feeling of your left hand before you start practicing. It will help you to play any rhythms smoothly if you focus on moving your both hands evenly.

How parents can support practice: Creating a space and time for your child to focus on their practice session everyday bases will help them developing a great practice habit.

Eric

Recommended minutes to practice: 20-30 minutes per day

What to practice: Mindfulness practice

How to practice: *Please take a moment to think about your posture, arm positions and hand grips. Do you feel comfortable sitting of the drum stool? How do you feel when you play the drum after you thought about all the questions above compare to thinking about nothing before you hit the drum? I’m excited hear your opinion about this assignment.

Sylvie

Recommended minutes to practice: 20-30 minutes per day

What to practice: Please bring your compositions to the next lesson. You can compose as many fills in four bars as you want. Use a snare drum to experiment your compositions and try on all the instruments on your drum set  after you got the rhythms.

How to practice: I highly recommend to speak the rhythms before you play. You can use the vocal sounds that I wrote down on your paper, but you can also create your own way to verbalise the rhythms
