Hello Everyone!
Here is the homework for this week!
Enjoy!
Julian
Recommended daily practice time is 5-10 minutes per day
Songs:
We are almost at the end of our lesson book! Next week we can try to look at music in the Level 1 faber adventures book. In the meantime, you can continue to practice ‘Let’s play’ the very last song in the book, one more week. You may also play any of your favourites from the book just for fun!
How parents can help: Encourage your child to have a daily practice routine and ensure that they are filling out their homework logs correctly. In addition to the online homework posts, I recommend that each student keep and maintain a homework journal where they can fill in how long they practice and what they worked on that week. You can decorate it to make it fun!

Songs:
This week we will continue to work on Grandmother. For this one be sure to count out loud while you play to make sure you play with a steady beat. You can also play lemonade stand for fun since this is a favourite! Finally you also have All my friends. For this one, fill in the counting this week and try clapping it. It has ties over the bar line which makes the counting trickier. Be sure to take it one step at a time and once you feel comfortable try playing it on the piano.

We have begun working on Monkeys! Online on the RCM account you can find all of the piano recordings to help you sing this song. Right now we can learn this song from the recordings as well as any youtube clips to help. In the coming weeks we will begin to learn how to read and learn music by ourselves.
Technique:
We learned about our breath this week! We went through a couple of warm up and techniques that will help us in filling up our ‘tire’ while keeping our shoulders away from our ears! Try breathing in through the straw and exhale like the sound of a balloon! You can do this to start off each practice session.
