Hello Everyone!

Here is the homework for this week!

Next week is Crazy Sock Day, so get creative and wear something that stands out!

Enjoy!

Marita

Recommended daily practice time is 10-15 minutes per day

Homework:

Good work on Forest drums and Runaway Rabbit. Continue on in the book and whenever you learn something new always count out loud, use a metronome or drum track. This will help you maintain a steady beat whenever you play something new.

How parents can help:

Encourage your child to have a daily practice routine and ensure that they are filling out their homework logs correctly. In addition to the online homework posts, I recommend that each student keep and maintain a homework journal where they can fill in how long they practice and what they worked on that week. You can decorate it to make it fun!

Sidonie

Recommended daily practice time is 5-10 minutes per day

Homework:

This week we learned a new Time Signature. 3/4 time. You count to 3 instead of 4! Make sure you play through all the news songs in addition to your favourite songs. This will help us move forward in the book!

Camille

Recommended daily practice time is 5-10 minutes per day

Homework:

Good work Camille! Remember when you play through your music to say the letter names out loud. This will help you stay focused on the music in front of you. You can also continue onto the next song once you are comfortable.

Sara

Recommended daily practice time is 5-10 minutes per day

Homework:

As usual we are working on phrasing and dynamic contrast. When you create a specific story for each piece, it helps influence the musical choices you make in each piece. Try this out for every song you play. You can also continue with Triads this week. Both Solid and broken in the keys we discussed. Sara is also encouraged to record notes during the lesson to ensure she remembers everything that she has to complete for the week.
