Hello Everyone!

Hope you are all enjoyed your March Break!

Here is the homework for this week.

Enjoy!

Carmen

Recommended daily practice time is 15-20  minutes per day

Homework:

Good work Carmen on Riding the wind! This song is tricky, but you can still manage. Be sure to count out loud while you play and go through each hand separately. We are also learning Pumpkin Boogie. This song includes the eighth rest. It works the same as an eighth note only silent. Remember to fill in the counting for the rest of the song. We also looked at dotter quarter notes. Remember these are worth 1 1/2 beats. or 1+2 for the counting. Be sure to fill in the counting for this song before you start. Good luck!

How parents can help:

Encourage your child to have a daily practice routine and ensure that they are filling out their homework logs correctly. In addition to the online homework posts, I recommend that each student keep and maintain a homework journal where they can fill in how long they practice and what they worked on that week. You can decorate it to make it fun!

Anaya

Recommended daily practice time is 5-10 minutes per day

Homework:

Good work Anaya with Rockin Anywhere! This week when you practice, try to play it at a faster tempo. We also talked about feeling the beat of any song. Since you are the musician you have to create that steady beat in the music you play. Try listening to music to feel the big and small beats. Tap, clap or dance to some music. Once you feel comfortable, try to play one note along to a drum track on your piano!
