Also try the following exercise we did in class (metronome at 30)

Step 1 count 123456 evenly without any number emphasized more than any other.

Step 2 count 1+2+3+ the same way as the previous step

Step 3 Play the guitar at the same time as the numbers while keeping track of all 6 events.

Tresa

Yasmim

What to practice: Notes on the guitar, Mary Had A Little Lamb

How to practice it most effectively: Spend a few minutes each day and maintain familiarity with the material.

How parents can support practice: Continuing with structured frequent practice sessions is the best way to support practice.

Sara

Recommended minutes to practice: 15 min/day

What to practice: Continue working through the examples in the Hal Leonard book and checking off as you go. You could also try looking for tabs or sheet music for other repertoire to learn, or try learning songs by ear. We’ll look at some ear training as well next class.

How to practice it most effectively: The metronome is always good to practice with, see if you can play the examples at a faster speed as well once you can play through all the notes and rhythms.

Have a good week everyone!
