Hi Everyone,
Please note I will be away Feb 27, but Daniel will be filling in and there will still be lessons that day for everyone that’s signed up.
Here are your assignments for this week:
Clara
Recommended minutes to practice: 5 min/day
What to practice: Songs from Book
How to practice it most effectively: Start with the one strum per chord, also try adding in the double time pattern we’ve been looking at.
Killian
Recommended minutes to practice: 5 min/day
What to practice: The Lion Sleeps Tonight and Avengers Theme
How to practice it most effectively: For the chords count out loud and have your playing on the instrument follow the counting.
Hugo
Recommended minutes to practice: 15 min/day
What to practice: Scales, Ear Training
How to practice it most effectively: Review D and A shapes, and intervals up to a 5th.
Peter
Recommended minutes to practice: 10 min/day
What to practice: Note Names
How to practice it most effectively: Focus on the letter names for now and don’t worry about sharps # or flats b yet. Start with the E string and take it one note at a time, aiming to memorize them eventually all the way up the string. Saying the letter names out loud at the same time as playing the note can be a good way to practice this. You could try in sequence, example – E – E F – E F G – E F G A (etc. adding one note each time).
Andrea
Recommended minutes to practice: 5 min/day
What to practice: Mary Had A Little Lamb, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Happy Birthday
How to practice it most effectively: Take song sections one at a time and then piece them together (example: line 1, line 2, then lines 1 + 2). Note that guitar “tab” notation is read in reverse.
Have a good week everyone!
