Hi Everyone,

Here are your assignments for this week:

Jett

Recommended minutes to practice: 15 min/day

What to practice: Sunflower

How to practice most effectively: Go through your new notes from today and look at piecing the whole melody together. Start listening and aiming for the rhythm as you're going through each section as we'll look at this in more detail next week.

How parents can support practice: Encouraging Jett to continue spending time on the instrument is the best way to support practice.

Hythem

Recommended minutes to practice: Play guitar for 5 min - everyday!

What to practice: Radioactive by Imagine Dragons

How to practice most effectively: Place your thumb on the back of the guitar pointing towards the sky. Fingers are numbered 1 2 3 4 starting with index, middle etc. Use the same finger number for the fret number you’re playing. (Open notes you won’t need to use a finger). There are 3 sections to what we’ve learned so far, try one section at a time before trying the whole song at once.

How parents can support practice: Encouraging Hythem to spend a bit of time on the guitar each day is a great way to support practice. We are aiming for 5 minutes a day at this point.

Maurya

Recommended minutes to practice: 30 min/day

What to practice: Open Chords, Bar Chords + chord switching

How to practice most effectively: Go through the chords we reviewed in class today and try the chord switching exercise for the ones we listed.

How parents can support practice: Encouraging Maurya to continue spending time on the guitar each day is a great way to support practice.

Aria

Recommended minutes to practice: 5 min/day

What to practice: Mary Had A Little Lamb + Music notes on the staff

How to practice most effectively: Go through your notes one at a time, two things to check for are 1. Which string is the note on (the line the number is written on) 2. Which fret is the note on (the number itself).

How parents can support practice: Encouraging Aria to spend a bit of time on the guitar each day is a great way to support practice.

Have a good week everyone!
