What to practice: Tuning the guitar

How to practice it most effectively: Try getting tuned up by playing a fretted note on one string, followed by the next open string. For E, A, and D, and B strings you’ll play the 5th fret. For the G string you’ll play the 4th fret.

How to practice it most effectively: Try holding the pick between your thumb and index fingers, be sure to “choke up” on the pick so you’re holding it near the bottom, and try playing “rest strokes” where you let the pick land/rest on the string below it (for downstrokes)
