Daily amount of minutes to practice: 30

What to practice: This week Jonathan I want you to work on the beats for Lesson 14 by writing in the counts above and practicing them. Also continue to work on Runaway a little bit every day to get it up to tempo as close as you can (here is the transcription and the song live and the studio version.)

How to practice effectively: The main thing I want you to focus on this week is understanding and playing the Lesson 14 beats well. The way we’re doing this is by writing the 16th note counts above the measure (1e+a 2e+a 3e+a 4e+a) and then seeing how the notes line up with that grid. You should be able to identify what count the note comes on (i.e. the + of 3) just like we did today if you understand this. From there take the time to practice out the beats slowly and then try to get them as consistent and smooth as possible. For Runaway, you can put it on the back-burner but keep working on it a little every day! And then when you feel comfortable, try doing it with the song at a slow speed, even if it doesn’t feel great at first, that kind of comfort will come with time!

Its great to see all the progress you’re making dude, keep it up!
