Recital News – New Venue, New Date
There will be 4 sessions of 45 minutes each, with the option of adding a 5th. They will begin on the hour, starting at noon. Sign-up forms will be on the desk beginning this Saturday. The Recital is scheduled for Sunday, December 15th.
If you are a new teacher, then please remember a couple of things: 1. You are not required to come to the recital. 2. If you do want to come, the sign-up sheets have a section at the top where you can indicate which one(s) you would like to attend.
Please, do not over book recitals. I will remove extra persons added in. We need to keep these short and sweet.
We will be holding this recital at a new venue: Casa do Alendejo, 1130 Dupont Ave. If you are driving I suggest parking at the Galleria Mall, and walking over.
This is a Portuguese Cultural centre, with a great theatre. I am excited to see how we manage the recital. It will be imperfect, as it is our first outing, but there is a lot of potential for enjoyment here.
We may change the way we run the recital, and actually pull the performers to the backstage so they can just walk on and play. I may need a stage coordinator so, let me know if you are interested (honorarium $ will be involved).
Also, the theatre is attached to a restaurant that smelled amazing, within the facility. It is typical cuisine of the Alendejo region. I tried it, and based on what I had, I’ve decided to see if you and the families of performers would be interested in having it open for the duration of the recitals, enabling us to have food, before, after, or during the show(s). Please let me know if you are interested, ASAP.
