Jack- Please practice the sheet of beats we worked on in the lesson. Make sure to keep your hands relaxed especially when playing fast. Also, keep watch that your left hand on the snare always bounces off the drum, instead of getting pushed into it.

John- Practice the swing beat chart the same way, this time with fills 1-4. Focus on one per day in the beginning, then do them all together later in the week. Also, try to get Praise the Lord up to tempo and be able to play along with the song. Here is the transcription (https://drive.google.com/open?id=13xOzbbqXBymHa119s8Zu5G53ThVPLgOs)

Sam- Work on the swing beats with fills 3 and 4. Also, try to get the bossa nova more comfortable. Don’t worry about playing it fast yet, it will take some time then get easy quick. If you have time, also look at Basket Case and see if you can start playing along to some of it. Here is the transcription (https://drive.google.com/open?id=1C3r8NUHNHjYXH0DoUK6daA9Go-2reHTP)

Harry- For this week, practice the beats on your sheet. Focus on one for each of the first three days, then do them all a bit each day. At first, break the beat into small pieces and learn them note by note, then put it all together slowly. You read very well so if you do it slowly it will all make sense!

Sampson- This week, work on each of the beats on your sheet. Focus on one for each of the first three days, then do them all a bit each day. At first, break the beat into small pieces and learn them note by note, then put it all together slowly. Make sure you hold the sticks very loosely and relax.

Koel- Practice your beat sheet and try to work it up to 140 before I see you on Tuesday. Make sure to start slow to make sure you have it then speed up with a metronome. If you can go past 140 comfortably, go for it!

Ali- Try to work on your sheet of beats over the week. It can be pretty fun to make a kit out of pots and pans and play with those sounds. Use a metronome to make sure you’re keeping in good time and move the speed up through the week.

Have fun and I’ll see you all next week!
