Recommended minutes to practice: 15 Minutes per day

Theory: We learned how to draw to the Treble G clef and Bass F clef. Complete the handout provided.

Songs: Men from Mars and Sea story will be recital songs. Have them memorized for the day of the recital.

We also started two new songs on the staff. Try out the song with middle C4 and the Treble G clef song. If you feel comfortable try the next two songs by yourself! Remember the steps to learning a song!

Songs: Just can’t wait to be king, Memorize this one for the day of the recital! You also have It’s a small world, Off to bed and Peter peter. When going through each song, focus on trouble spots and practice those until you are comfortable then try out the whole song. Remember to play the songs you don’t know yet. Songs: This week we have a few songs on the go in each book! Floating Balloon (Artistry Book),Forest drums (Lesson Book) Performance book – A Merry March – Painting pastels and Square dance. For each song, our focus is to always move to the next level and really create beautiful music. Focusing on our different dynamics and different ways of making sound! Staccato, Legato and detached.

Scales: C Major and G major Hands together 2 octaves

Recommended minutes to practice: 15 Minutes per day

Sight reading book: Day 1-5 The Juggler

Songs: Flute of the Andes, New song is Runaway Rabbit. Remember to go through steps to learning a song. Always count along while you play. Take your time learning the songs and focus on the parts that you need more work on. Mark these sections with a pencil then practice only those sections. After you are comfortable, go back to playing the whole song.

Recommended minutes to practice: 20 Minutes per day

Songs: Marine Hymn is your recital song. Memorize this for the recital. Be as rhythmical as possible it is a march! For Sakura, you want it to be as beautiful as beautiful. Think of the larger phrases and the musical sentences we talked about. A beginning, middle and end and the push and pull you get through each phrase.

For tiny toons, be sure to count while you play. Play hands apart for the first little while then move to hands together. Stick with the finger numbers given in the song try not to add your own.
