Hi Everyone,

Here are your assignments for this week:

Ella

Recommended minutes to practice: 15 min/day

What to practice: Tuning

How to practice it most effectively: Use a tuner, make sure to bring the note below the pitch first and then bring it up to pitch.

How parents can support practice: Check with Ella to see if she has a good setup for tuning (handheld tuner, phone app, or clip-on tuners are all good options)

Lucien

Recommended minutes to practice: 10 min/day

What to practice: He’s A Jolly Good Fellow Bar 1

How to practice it most effectively: Use a Metronome at 70 and count 1 2 3 along with the metronome in a loop over and over. Remember you’re “figuratively juggling” the guitar playing along with the counting and the metronome, work on juggling these 3 things and move on to the next bar once you finish!

How parents can support practice: Please assist Lucien with getting setup with a metronome for practice sessions. 70 bpm is a good speed for this week.

Augustine

Recommended minutes to practice: 10 min/day

What to practice:#50 Greensleeves, look ahead if you finish (Note:40,45,46,47,48,49,are checked off!)

How to practice it most effectively: Use a metronome and take one line at a time before trying all together.

How parents can support practice: Augustine can practice self-directed for the most part but may benefit from a reminder to start with smaller sections. 1 line at a time is a strategy that both works well and he seems to enjoy.

Van

Recommended minutes to practice: 10 min/day

What to practice: # in Hal Leonard Book (#1- checked off!

How to practice it most effectively: Count out loud as you play the notes, take it a bit slower and check the timing.

How parents can support practice: Encourage Van to continue looking ahead in the Hal Leonard book and suggest songs he might like to learn.

Have a good week everyone!

Trevor
