Recommended minutes to practice: 15 Minutes per day

Songs: Practice recital music. The two songs selected will be Sea story and Men from Mars. Try to have these memorized for the recital!

You also have a handout to complete. We are working on the music ladder or also known as the Staff. Remember when we go up the ladder our alphabet goes up. When we go down the alphabet goes down. Start at the bottom space and work your way up space then line then space then line. Don’t skip anything along the way.

How parents can support practice: Encouraging your child to practice regularly and helping them develop a routine is the best way to be supportive. Additionally, check their homework log for accuracy.

Recommended minutes to practice: 15 Minutes per day

Songs: Just can’t wait to be king = Recital song, It’s a small world, Off to bed now, make sure you fill in counting for songs you have not completed yet. Clap and count then play and count. Be sure to count out loud as you play when you learn the new song. Try to get 5 days checked off on your practice log to get stickers for next week.

Recommended minutes to practice: 15 Minutes per day

Songs: Recital song choices = Rusty old bike, and Lightly row. Choose one of these for next week to be your final recital piece. New song = A merry March, go through steps to learning a song for this one.

You will also work on G major scale both hands 2 octaves with metronome set at 100bpm.

Songs: This is not jingle bells, traffic jam, kite in the sky. For new songs, go through steps to learning a song and be sure to count while you play. This week you can also try singing and playing at the same time. Have fun with it!
