Here are your homework assignments for this week:
Ronin
Focus this week on the accent patterns that we worked on at the end of your lesson. Watch your stick heights and listen closely to the sound of each note you play. Make sure that the non-accented notes are all of equal volume and play them as softly as you can. Practice the accent patterns slowly so that you can control each movement of your hands.
Leonie
Take a look this week at the Bossa Nova rhythm. Practice together with different foot patterns listed at the top of the page. After that, try playing together with the special foot pattern that we practiced: 1 2 and 3 4 and 1 2 and 3 4 and 1. Practice this very slowly and make sure that the rhythm lines up properly with the foot pattern.

Review the 2-bar phrases that we did last week. They could still use a bit more practice. Also, take a look the 4-bar phrases that we did this week. Practice playing a fill at the end of every 4 bars and keep the time steady throughout the fill. Try coming up with a 4-bar phrase of your own and write it down in your book.
Benjamin
Take a look at the new rhythms we learned this week. Practice counting out loud before you play, and then make sure that your playing matches your counting. These new rhythms are more challenging than what we have done before, so practice them slowly. Try playing each one 3 or 4 times in a row without stopping.
