Hi all!  Excellent work this week!

Michelle:  You’re adding a new warmup/technical exercise this week – I Sigh to Sing.  Make sure to sing through the starting vowel [a] in those diphthongs in I and Sigh.  Link to exercise:  https://www.dropbox.com/s/hngyqqfbamgywgk/I%20Sigh%20To%20Sing.m4a?dl=0

You’re also recording yourself speaking the rubato verse in ‘But Not For Me’ in a conversational manner, then trying to sing with the same rhythm and inflection.  Next week, aim to have the rubato verse and the refrain ready to sing!  25 minutes a day.

Nila:  You are learning a new warmup/technical exercise – Lip trills!  Remember to keep your cheek muscles nice and relaxed, and your air stream steady and consistent.  Link to the warmup is:  https://www.dropbox.com/s/654b39h7xg3epm5/Arjean%20Lip%20Trills.wav?dl=0

You’re also going to finish learning the rest of Castle On A Cloud.  Link to the learning resource for this is:  https://drive.google.com/open?id=1gyE489ZhV5RwYY2-6a03ygVpmmZ0YZPB

15 minutes a day practice.

Estelle:  We focused on piano this week.  You’re going to get the Alfred Complete Book 1 for the later beginner (silver cover), and you can start with Batter up in either version.  To learn the piece, you’re going to

1. Clap and count.

2.  Count and play

3. Sing-count

4. Sing note names

5. Sing lyrics.

By the time you do all of this, you’ll be so secure in the music!  15 – 20 minutes a day (each instrument)

Have a wonderful week, see you next Thursday!
