Hello Everyone!

Here is the homework for this week!

Enjoy!

Marita

Recommended daily practice time is 10-15 minutes per day

Songs:

This week Marita will be working on a few new songs. The first song is Best friends then Gorilla in the tree, My invention and March on D-E-F. For each song, Marita is encouraged to follow the steps to learning a song. First clapping and counting the song out loud to ensure the rhythm is secure. Next she should look for dynamics (how loud or quiet to play the music) after that she should read through the letter names to ensure she is comfortable reading each note. After that, she can begin playing what she has gone through. If there are tricky spots then she can go over them in smaller sections. Marita is encouraged to play more than what is required. She is zooming through this book, so I would love to quickly move through this book so Marita can move to Level 1 very soon!

Sara

Recommended daily practice time is 25-30 minutes per day

Songs:

This week Sara is encouraged to fill in the counting for Ludwig exploring. This will assist with metronome work. She should try working with a slow tempo to begin then increase once she becomes comfortable. To help this process she should try counting out loud while working. She is also working on Canon and Ballet. She needs to work on them for another week. Ballet there is a test next week where dynamics are the focus. Being sure that Sara chooses phrasing that works well with the piece to create beautiful lines. Canon was played very well today. She needs to remember that the entire piece is played with the legato articulation. She also had some hesitations in class so more comfort is needed in this piece.

Technique:

This week Sara is encouraged to work on F# Major scale with both hands. Being sure that nothing is accented.
