Hi Everyone,

Here are your assignments for this week:

Ariel

What to practice: Valerie

How to practice it most effectively: Take a look at the chords we looked at in class, Emi and Dmi are good ones to review. Also take a look at the “One two three” rhythm we were working on for singing along with. We can look in more detail at fitting the melody with the chords as well next time!

Lucien

Recommended minutes to practice: 10 min/day

What to practice: C major

How to practice it most effectively: Play the first few notes on the guitar, try singing the letter names along with the notes. Also look at the “strings” on your page, and use “eddie ate dynamite good bye eddie” to find both the “strings” on your page and the strings on your guitar.

How parents can support practice: Hal Leonard Guitar Method Book 1 is the book I’m recommending for Lucien, please pick this up as soon as you get the chance, should be available at Long & Mcquade.

Griffin

Recommended minutes to practice: 15 min/day

What to practice: Song From Book 2, Page 2 – “Sinner Man”

How to practice it most effectively: Step 1 – Say the counting / Step 2 – Play the notes on guitar the same way you would say the counting, go slow at first.

How parents can support practice: Encourage Griffin to continue picking up the guitar each day.

Augustine

Recommended minutes to practice: 10 min/day

What to practice: Ghost Busters

How to practice it most effectively: Get started on the first part we looked at in class today. Note that the 1st and 3rd bars are the same, while the 2nd and the 4th bars are similar but different.

How parents can support practice: Hal Leonard Guitar Method Book 1 is the book I’m recommending for Augustine, please pick this up as soon as you get the chance, should be available at Long & Mcquade.

Have a good week everyone!
