Recommended minutes to practice: 15 min/day

What to practice:

C major Scales @ 75 on the metronome, Two ways 1. One octave 2. As high and low as you can play in the position

-1st position

-2nd position

-5th position

Fingerpicking

-C

-C/F

-Switching from C to C/F (2 times through the fingerpicking pattern then switch)

How to practice it most effectively: Start by figuring out where to put your fingers and when without a metronome, then add in the metronome (75 for scales, 120 for fingerpicking). Aim to increase the speed over the course of the week.

Recommended minutes to practice: 10 min/day

What to practice: Major Triads in C+G, 1 string Scales for D, G, and B strings. Review 2nd position scales with Alternate Picking and a Metronome set at 90bpm.

How to practice it most effectively: Start saying the letter names for the notes as you play them working through the examples we looked at. Start checking out the 12 major scales, 5 major scale positions, and 1 string scales.

What to practice: Beginning of Mary Had A Little Lamb

How to practice it most effectively: Pick up the guitar and try playing notes, (4th fret, 2nd fret, open)
