Awesome first lessons, some of you, and onto our next semester with the rest of you!  Let’s make this fall season full of new musical beginnings.

Alex P.

Excellent first lesson learning the piano, Alex!!  Try to play the ‘note-naming game’ with one of your parents each day this week to familiarize yourself with the WHITE KEYS on the piano, with the goal of being able to know which key of the musical alphabet (A, B, C, D, E, F or G) it is.  And, when purchasing your *full-length, weighted keyboard, don’t forget to buy the book your parents photographed.

Isabella

Really, you practiced Batman hands together this week, and got it ready to play for me today, but then you refused to play H.T. (hands together) for the entire lesson!  This is not acceptable, dear, although your playing H.S. (hands separately) did improve.  Batman H.T. for next week, and a your new song — Moog!

Alex B.

Great sight-reading today, and especially, since you went a whole summer without practicing!  Your ‘moving to the rhythm’ also improved seemingly without effort.  Now, once you get your piano book from camp, please review the pieces we worked on before the summer, and bring them back up to speed!

Oscar

Great first lesson learning the piano, Oscar!!  Try to play the ‘note-naming game’ with one of your parents each day this week to familiarize yourself with the WHITE KEYS on the piano, with the goal of being able to know which key of the musical alphabet (A, B, C, D, E, F or G) it is.  Locate the note of the same type through the entire length of the keyboard by using the patterns of 2 and 3 grouped black keys.

Leslie

Awesome first lesson, Leslie!  You were a pleasure to teach, and your love for the cello made me fall in love with the instrument all over again!!!  Looking forward to picking out a cello with you and beginning lessons in the next month or two.
