Here are your homework assignments for this week:
Thomas
Practice the rhythms and drum beats that we worked on this week. Focus on playing the rhythms as drum fills together with the beats. Be sure to count out loud to make sure you get the timing right, and remember to go back to the beat after the fill without losing time. Mix and match the rhythms with the beats.
Oscar
Work on the new fills and the break-down section of “Chameleon” by Herbie Hancock. Practice everything slowly several times before trying to do it with the recording. Be sure to count either out loud or in your head while you are playing to make sure the timing is right. Also, please bring a binder with your music in it next week.
Nathan
Work on the two beats from “Ride” by 21 Pilots. In the first beat, be sure to use both hands on the hi-hat, and keep the heel of your right foot down while playing the bass drum. In the second beat, focus on making your left hand drags as tight and crisp sounding as you can. Practice everything slowly before playing it with the recording.
