Mazin

Yet another great lesson today and practice this past week, Maz. You are on an extended positive roll!! Keep it up!

Minutes to practice: 45 per day.
What to practice: The pieces noted in your notebook.
How to practice it most effectively: Moving to the rhythmic feel of the piece before you play, slow down the motion, then practice H.S. or H.T. in SLOW MOTION while you continue to move to the piece’s rhythmic feel.

Brigitte

EXCELLENT improvement in intonation this past week, Brigitte. Though this has been a struggle, you finally are getting the hang of it. Remember to move in the right way to the strong beats of the exercise/piece you are playing. Forward and Back, Side to Side, or a mixture of the two. It will help with your bow articulation and sound production!

Minutes to practice: 45 per day.
What to practice: The exercises marked with today’s date in your study book.
How to practice it most effectively: Keep on doing what you did this past week. It’s working!!!

Chloe

Though the same problem of hesitating/doubting yourself before beginning to play reared its head again this week, you did make progress in the lesson. Please practice in the same way tonight and before your performance at the recital tomorrow. I hope all goes well. Good luck!!!

Minutes to practice: 30 (or more) per day.
What to practice: After the recital tomorrow, continue practicing the pieces assigned from last week.
How to practice it most effectively: Moving to the strong beats, counting yourself one or two bars in before you begin playing, then conducting yourself in (lifting your hands) on the count before you are to begin.
How parents can support practice: Encourage Chloe to not hesitate before playing.
