Excellent lessons today, all 3 of you!  Good job.

Remember to practice ALL of the songs I assign to you each week (denoted by the date I assign it).  Practice the way we worked the pieces in the lesson.  If you’re unsure of a note, figure it out using the sayings (eg. Every Good Butterfly…), aiming to get to point where you’re able to name the note immediately and know where it is on the keyboard when seeing it on the page.

Much improvement in your practicing this week, and in your focus during the lesson, despite not feeling your usual self.  Practice the way we worked your pieces in the lesson.  If you’re unsure of a note, figure it out using the sayings (eg. Every Good Butterfly…), aiming to get to point where you’re able to name the note immediately and know where it is on the keyboard when seeing it on the page.  And, remember, notes that are on top of each other on the page, whether in the treble or bass clefs, are meant to be played at the same time.  Stay on the rhythm train!!

80% ready for your exam!  Focus on the technical/ear-training areas and pieces that need work.  Remember, the MELODY is the star of the show, must be interesting and dramatically stand out above the rest.  The accompaniment should support and echo whatever the melody is doing.
