Hello Everyone,

IMPORTANT NOTICE

I will be away on October 27th, and you will have a wonderful drummer, Edvan next Saturday. Please prepare to show what you have been working on and bring some relevant questions.

This is the assignment for this week,

Samuel

Recommended minutes to practice: 20-30 minutes per day

What to practice: Rudiment #1-10 on the snare drum. C major and F major scale in two octaves. The Comedians on the xylophone.

How to practice:

Rudiment… Set your metronome quoter equal to 60 and play each note even.

More details about the rudiment… #7, RRLLR  LLRRL. #8, R LLRRL R LLRRL.  #9, RRLLRRL RRLLRRL. #10, RRLLRRLLR LLRRLLRRL.

How parents can support practice: Creating a space and time for your child to focus on their practice session everyday bases will help them developing a great practice habit.

Harrison

Recommended minutes to practice: 10 minutes twice a day

What to practice: High-hat open-close exercise.

How to practice: Place your left foot on the high-hat pedal and bringing your toes up (open) and down (close). while this exercise, your heal stays on the pedal. I suggest to do this exercise slowly. After a couple days of practice, you should be able to bring the tempo up. Once you feel comfortable playing the open and close high-hat pattern, try to play along with a beat you know.

How parents can support practice: Creating a space and time for your child to focus on their practice session everyday bases will help them developing a great practice habit.

Have a wonderful week,

Naoko
