Pablo – Work on the beats discussed. ALSO work on the new song we worked on. Remember: ‘right left right, right left right, right left right’ etc. Words are “Engine, engine, number nine, coming down Toronto line, if the train goes off its track, will I get my money back? Yes, no, maybe so. Yes, no, maybe so.” Try to recite while tapping.
Katheline – Push forward in both books. Play all major, harmonic minor, and melodic minor scales. Review the circle of fifths, and try to memorize the key signatures, and relative major and minor keys for key signatures with 4, 3, 2, 1 or 0 flats, and 4, 3, 2, 1, or 0 sharps.
Daniel – Practice the ‘right left right, right left right’ pattern we worked on tapping. Work on the four black key songs you were working on from the book. Pick some songs to sing, and tap the PULSE while singing them.
Gavin – Practice for the recital! Remember that it’s important to have a plan in case you lose your place so you don’t completely trainwreck. If you get lost, try switching to only the left hand part so you can keep the foundation going. This applies to both your recital pieces, the March and the Ode to Joy.
