Good work/insights today, guys!
FLASHCARDS!! And if you’re focused when practicing — these things will help you recognize the notes faster, and eventually no thought will be required. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
Great improvement this week! Remember to keep your wrists HIGH, playing on your fingertips, including your pinky finger and thumb — this is the basic hand form used for most pieces. Make your fingers to the work of articulation, not your wrist!
When practicing, if you make a mistake, stop, figure out what you did wrong, then go back to an earlier point in the piece, then attempt the section again in SLOW MOTION. HIGH wrists, playing on fingertips is the basic, most-used hand form for all pieces. Also, remember, the quicker you come off of staccatos, the more exciting they sound!!
