Spring Recital & Bump to Baby
ABC Academy is having its Spring recital on Sunday, May 15th. We invite you to join us for one of the short (45 minute) sessions. These are low-key, family and baby friendly events, which we’d love to see you at. We have 4 sessions (3:00, 4:00, 5:00, 6:00), and you can simply drop in to which ever one you like. If your child gets antsy or noisy, don’t worry. We want you to feel included and to expose your children to other children making music. This is a great way to introduce them to concerts, and for them to see older children modelling music-making.
The recitals will be at the Root Down Studio, at 225 Geary Ave. Which is at Dupont & Dufferin. We recommend parking at the Galleria Mall, and walking over.
The Bump to Baby Show
We are delighted to be taking part in the Bump to Baby Show, which is also on May 15th, at the Wychwood Barns. Needless to say, it is going to be a very long day for the ABC team!
Admission is free and there will be many kinds of activities, food, talks, demonstrations, a raffle, vendors, and we will be offering free Demo classes at 10:00 and 2:00. We’d love your help in getting those classes filled up, so please ask your non-registered friends if they would be interested. A link to register is on our Facebook Page. Summer
For the first time ever we are going to try to run Summer Music Together classes – Yay! We’ll also be adding new Babies classes – for children 0-8 months.
We need your help, however.
Please help us understand your needs by filling our our Summer Class Questionnaire. Without your input, we can’t make this work. If you indicate you are interested, there are 3 questions. If you answer no, that’s it! Please fill out the 30 second questionnaire now.
Fall & Summer Pre-Registration
To help keep your schedules predictable, and to make sure you get the times you want and need, we do our registration for the Summer and Fall in May, beginning on the 16th.
Billing for the summer occurs in July, and August on our regular monthly schedule.
Billing for the October occurs on June 1st (or at the time of re-registration) to hold your spot for the fall.
The Fall schedule will be available shortly, and we’ll likely have copies for you to take home from class!
Class Tuition Rates
Music Together class rates have remained unchanged since 2014, and we are now increasing our rates to reflect our increasing costs. Many of you helped us out by switching your payments from Credit Card to PAP/Void Cheque, and this has helped us avoid a 10-15% increase, and we are able to go with a more modest 7.5% increase. Monthly tuition will be $83.35 for the first child, and $50.35 for additional children. Our 20% referral will continue to be in effect.
This year one family was paying ~$40 per month for their classes as a result of referrals, so a little can go a long way!
In order to help manage the transition to this new rate we are offering a special through the end of June: If you register and pay for the entire school year (Oct-June) before the end of June, we’ll honour this year’s rates.
If the increase otherwise is a cause for concern please call us. We cater to a lot of different kinds of families, and our fundamental mission is To Save Music. If we don’t give families much needed access to programs like ours, then we can hardly achieve this mission, so we try to be open to being flexible on a case-by-case basis.
