GOOD LUCK ON YOUR RECITALS!

Vivienne

Vivienne should practice 4-5 times per week for 15-20 min per session – Work on both pieces hands together at a moderate tempo, and correct the rhythm (some parts with 8th notes and quarter notes) in both pieces. Also, legato (smooth) playing in both On Top of Smoky and Roman Holiday with phrasing and dynamic changes. NOTE TO PARENTS: Report is out! Come to see me!

Osten

Osten should practice 4-5 times per week at 15-20 mins per session – Work and perfect the recital pieces (staccatos, slurs, phrasing, dynamic, notes, rhythm), ALWAYS read the music notes, don’t rely on the fingering number, and listening during your practices. Also, work on early preparation in both heads (fast movement to the next note/chord) in Malaguena.

Alyssa

Alyssa should practice 4-5 times per week at 30 mins – 1 hr per session – Technique – work on clarity, accuracy, with strong fingers and correct fingerings. Repertoire & Etude – Practice with attention on articulation, and be more consistent on tempo (use the metronome). Keep reviewing with phrasing and musicality on When Rivers Flowed on Mars. Sight reading – pick any short passage of music in your sight reading book, or any piano music book to practice sight reading (time & key signature, accidentals, range of notes, fingering, tempo, dynamic, articulation).

Maria

Maria should practice 4-5 times per week at 15-20 mins per session – Perfect your recital pieces with accuracy of notes, rhythm, and consistent tempo (especially the last line of On the Bridge of Avignon), but also keep working on learning the notes and rhythm on the other pieces.

Ruby

Ruby should practice 4-5 times per week at 15-20 mins per session – Polish up and Perfect Ode to Joy for the recital, and practice the 2 new assigned pieces. Always welcome to keep looking ahead of the book and try to learn new pieces.
