Hello everyone! By now you have all seen that I will be taking a leave from my teaching position with ABC. Though I spoke with you all during your lessons on Sunday, I just wanted to mention again how much I’ve enjoyed working with you all this past semester! Each and every one of you are such fabulous students! It’s truly been a great experience.

I will be seeing one of you this week for a makeup lesson, but for everyone else, I wanted to wish you the best next semester, and I hope you have a wonderful holiday.

Please see below for practice suggestions during the break should you feel so inclined, but make sure you get plenty of time to relax as well!

Klara

So sorry I missed you this week! I’m not exactly sure what happened there/why I didn’t see you in the waiting room on Zoom. Looking forward to our lesson this coming Sunday!

Emet

-Intermezzo: keep on practicing and try adding the pedal
-Hound Dog: practice hands separately and once you feel confident with the rhythm, try putting it hands together
-Scales: D minor harmonic (#2 in your book) and D minor melodic (#3) both in RH and LH

Nathalia

-Up on the Housetop: isolate bars 9-12 for extra practice, and then work on practicing the whole thing hands together

Kollel

-Fur Elise: print the version I sent you if you haven’t already, and practice from that version instead. Continue to work on it hands together, and for problem sections, practice it slowly hands separately

Renaud

-Grandmother: practice hands together
-Up on the Housetop: practice it with 1st and 2nd endings. Find page 2 and try it out on your own! (Or maybe Carmen can help you!)

Carmen

-Pirate of the North Sea: pay attention to the staccatos, and watch out for the rhythms of 8th notes versus quarter notes
-Queen’s Royal Entrance: watch for the staccatos, watch out for the 8th notes in bar 15, and the 8va at the ned
-keep practicing The First Noel and O Christmas Tree

Awesome work everyone! I hope you have an excellent break, and an amazing semester in 2021!
