Hello Everyone!

Here is the homework for this week!

Enjoy!

Anjanah

Recommended daily practice time is 5-10 minutes per day

Songs:

Thanks for a great lesson Anjanah! This week you may work through all of your selections that include Yankee Doodle, Take me out to the ball game, The Solar system, and Let it go! For each of these, try reading the words like it’s a story. If you aren’t sure of what a word means you can as a grownup to help you. I am also giving you a new song to listen to! Listen to the youtube to track to begin learning this.

How parents can help: Encourage your child to have a daily practice routine and ensure that they are filling out their homework logs correctly. In addition to the online homework posts, I recommend that each student keep and maintain a homework journal where they can fill in how long they practice and what they worked on that week. You can decorate it to make it fun!

Fiona

Recommended daily practice time is 5-10 minutes per day

Songs:

This week we tried out a really fun song! Animals by Maroon 5. We learned the chorus of this song. Try singing it out loud to help you remember the notes and words. Then try playing it by yourself on the piano! You may also try out The dance band and frogs on log in the book. You can also sing along to these songs while you play!

Danny

Recommended daily practice time is 15-20 minutes per day

Songs:

You can play song for a scarecrow another week to help improve the articulations of legato in the right hand and staccato in the left hand. Also watch out for the dynamics, and circle them in your music so that you remember to include them while you play this song. You may also continue onto the next song onto London Symphony. We will discuss The V7 chord next week but feel free to read ahead if you choose! I have also sent you some Mozart pieces that you may try out as well!

Technique:

Continue your work on Bb Major scale. The flat scales will all have different finger numbers to use because each scale starts on a black key rather than the white key. Play this until you are confident!
