Recommended minutes to practice: 30 minutes a day

What to practice: Work on hearing the chords for House of The Rising Sun this week. Also practice the melody for Don’t Stop Me Now, play along with Freddie’s vocal line so you can get the specific inflections. Also work on your major scales.

How to practice it most effectively: Work on major scales with a metronome on 2 and 4. I know it will be a struggle at first but it’s worth it. Also as I said before play along with the recording for Don’t Stop Me Now, it will really help you.

What to practice: Review the sight reading from Book 1 and become very familiar with the first few notes in the book. Also work on the C major scale in 2nd position. Keep going with the Ed Sheeran song, it sounds better every week.

How to practice it most effectively: If the book has a play along that might be good to listen to and play along with. Take your time with the major scale, play it quieter than you think you need to.

What to practice: Keep working on C major in thirds, the D major scale, as well as the chords for Good 4 U.

How to practice it most effectively: If you could work on playing your scales in thirds along with a metronome that would be amazing. Next week we will talk more about how to use you a metronome.

What to practice: Work on your C major scale in 3rds. Your sister can help you if you can’t remember how it goes. Also practice the strumming pattern for One Love.

How to practice it most effectively: When you’re playing One Love count out loud so that you are hitting the chords on beat 2 and 4.

What to practice: Keep working on House of the rising sun and get that picking pattern down. Also see if you can lift the bass line for stand by me. Keep working on that Wish You Were Here solo, it’s coming together really well but I want to hear you absolutely nail it. Also work on your major scales in thirds.

How to practice it most effectively: Working on major scales with a metronome would be amazing and really help with playing them consistently. Also just play that solo over and over until you can’t stand it but it’s perfect. Don’t forget to find some songs that you like so we can steal some ideas from them.
