Here are your homework assignments for this week:
Charlotte
Practice the new quarter note triplet beat from “Fool in the Rain”. Try to hear how the rhythm of the bass drum and snare drum is the same as the rhythm from the other beat that you learned. Also, practice playing a regular eighth note triplet fill along with the new beat. This will help in understanding the relationship between the two different beats.
Cathy
Great work on the Bossa Nova this week! It’s getting much more consistent and starting to really groove! Keep practicing it this week and remember to keep the ride cymbal and the bass drum light. Also, take a look at the 4-bar phrases that we have been working on. Try to be creative with the fills and come up rhythms and sounds that you really like. We’ll do more of this next week.
