Hello everyone! Welcome to Fall 2020! It’s so great to be working with all of you until Ms Kasia is able to return! I will do my best to keep your instruction streamlined with what you were working on before with Ms Kasia.

Below I will include some homework suggestions for each of you. Since it’s only the first week of the semester, it’ll be pretty light/open. In the future, I’ll try to always include constructive ideas that I’d like you to look at each week as well as a recommended time to practice daily/weekly. Always though, keep in mind that the most important thing is to have fun and enjoy yourself! These are suggestions and recommendations, and I completely understand that life will always come first! Stay happy and healthy, and try to work your music practice in to your schedules in a way that complements that happy and healthy lifestyle! Practice DOES make perfect, as the saying goes, but the most important thing is to enjoy what you’re doing :)

Parents, if you have any questions, please let me know at the beginning or end of the lessons. I’m always happy to chat with you!

Emet

The Major & The Minor — keep practicing, paying attention to the difference between staccato and legato
Greensleeves — keep up the practicing!

Nathalia

Looking Glass River — keep playing through to remind yourself
Joshua Fit the Battle — try it out hands together this week?

Kollel

Somersault King – work on adding the staccato, and paying close attention to when you have triplets in the RH vs when they are straight 8ths. Also keep in mind the structure of piece (coda)
Siciliano – Yes, as we thought, you should go to the 2nd ending after the DC al fine. Start thinking about articulation; play hands separately to help get more familiar with the notes.
E major scale – HS

Renaud

Work on playing through Gorilla in the Tree and My Invention. Make sure that your LH plays in bass clef and RH plays in treble

Carmen

Ode to Joy – try out hands together
Moonlight Melody – keep playing through
I Am the King – keep playing through

See you all next Sunday!
