Hello Piano Explorers and Parents

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.  As usual around this time of year, there are a few colds/flu getting passed around, so please make sure to cancel if you were too sick to attend school, and I will make a point of keeping the piano as clean as possible :)

Dani

Please review “Sweetly Sings the Donkey”, “Ode to Joy” (great work memorizing this during the lesson!) and Brother John. Be patient with your progress as it does take a while for songs to really “sink in”.

Milena

Nice work on your Halloween piece. She has two new pieces this week, so practice slowly, and be listening for a nice solid sound from the LH chords.

Veda

Thank you for working on your pieces last week.  Take your time to find the new LH note G in “Ode to Joy” and be sure to use finger 1.  Check this out (skip to 12:50 for the theme) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdWyYn0E4Ys

Zoe

Feel better soon!  Hope to see you next week ;)

Rachel

Record “Symphony No. 40” on your keyboard so we can listen to it together to see what the differences are compared to the school piano.

Eduardo

Great job on your Halloween piece. For “Love Somebody”, you picked it up quickly! Be careful with the “red”(start with finger 2) and “green” (start with finger 4) sections. In your new piece “Mexican Hand Clapping” be sure to check which LH chords are DIFFERENT. Use the “rests” in your music to find the new place to move to.

Alyssa

In Yankee Doodle, practice the ending carefully. Here’s the video we watched today playing the theme from your new song “William Tell Overture Theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7O91GDWGPU

Thanks everyone and have a great week
