Hello Piano explorers and parents

Here’s the homework summaries for this week:

Milena

Complete the coloring homework strategically this week (do all treble clefs, then bass clefs, checking the note carefully). Nice work on your songs this week. They’re showing progress, and your chords are getting clearer. Remember to get a nice sound, you need to press fingers 1, 3, 5 but also LIFT the fingers that aren’t playing (2 and 4).

Ved.

Your hand position is improving (fairy analogy works). We listened to Ode to Joy today to get a sense of the grandeur of the song. Keep practicing Ode to Joy, as use Jingle Bells and Sweetly Sings as warm-up songs (play them through twice a day).

Zoe

Glad you’re feeling better this week! Jingle Bells : only play two fast E’s, not 3. Singing the song while playing may help with that. Ode to Joy: play steadily.

Rachel

Thanks for being an awesome, attentive student! Best of luck, and I’ll keep an eye out for your exam results! ;)

Eduardo

Don’t rush Mexican Hand Clapping Song. Practice slowly and it will improve quickly. Your Clementine was excellent. With Yankee Doodle we are getting out of a fixed hand position, so be sure to check your finger numbers and notes carefully. Also start For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow.

Alyssa

Continue to practice This Land, William Tell Overture (check to make sure you’re holding the long note G and not playing extra G’s) and Yankee Doodle.

Thanks everyone!

Hannah
