Studies

  • The Butterfly : staccato and accents
  • Witches and Wizards : articulation, accents, dynamics

Repertoire

  • Gigue a L’Angloise : each hand by memory, then hands together (practice in small sections)
  • The Song of Twilight : work on memorizing second half (chords in measures 5 and 11)
  • Sonatina : first page by memory (hands separately and together)

Technical Requirements

– scales and triads : major D, minor B, D and G

(you will need about 20 min practice a day, keep up the good work!)

here is what you need to remember for your next week practice:

Studies

  • Masquerade : memorize right hand arpeggios (play “very legato”)

Repertoire

  • German Dance : keep memorizing in sections (be able to start each section independently)
  • Dream Catcher : left hand with pedal, each hand separately by memory
  • Rigadoon : keep even pulse, dynamics

Technical Requirements

  • all covered scales and triads

(you will need about 20 min practice a day, keep up the good work!)

Good work on “Go tell Aunt Rhody” both right and left hand!

Practice:

  • The C, B and A Songs, watching for the quarter rests and keeping even pulse.
  • Little Dance
  • Rainy Dance

(make sure to keep your fingers round (curved) and your wrist relaxed, you would need about 10 min a day to make your pieces sounding beautiful, also enjoy your improvisation :))

Good memory work on Cinderella’s Waltz!

Practice:

  • Ludwig’s Accents
  • Leap for the Pinata
  • Marching Band
  • Birthday Cake
  • Swan Lake

(be careful while finding new positions with your left hand, and keeping pulse evenly, you need about 10 min a day for your practice)

 

 

Dear Tai,

Good work on Time Machine!

Practice:

  • The Dragon Hunt (watch for the transition to coda in measure 11)
  • Pagoda in The Purple Mist (with pedal, keep your eight notes even)
  • A Day at The Carnival (left hand legato medium forte, right hand staccato, piano)
  • Sunburst Waltz (try one line hands together!)

(you will need about 15 -20 min practice a day, if your schedule is really busy try to play at least 2 pieces that day)
