Hello Piano Explorers and Parents
This was our last regular lesson of 2015. As usual, the final week at ABC Academy is reserved for make-up lessons ONLY. Your next regular lesson will be on Jan. 6, 2016.
Dany
Continue to play your Jingle Bells and work on your own version. Try different rhythms in the LH once you get more comfortable playing hands together.
Milena
We worked on the Dreydl Song (check the notes in the end of the 2nd line and beginning of the 3rd line). We also worked on her version of Jingle Bells, where she decides what notes she wants to add to “jazz up” the piece. Please check her notebook for the list of books to get for our next lesson next year.
Veda
We worked on River Road, Merrily We Roll Along, and learned how to draw a treble clef. Try drawing a few at home! Try recording her playing at home, and play back to hear how it sounds.
Zoe
We started the Dreydl Song (2 pages), and reviewed different rhythms, identified intervals, and learned how to draw a treble clef. We’ll continue to work on the song in the new year. Bring your orange duotang as well to our next class.
Eduardo
We composed our own version of Jingle Bells. You can continue to review past songs and enjoy playing all your favourite songs so far.
It’s been great working together with all of you on your pieces. I’m looking forward to what 2016 will bring as we continue our musical journey together. Keep playing your pieces over the holidays and we’ll dive into more on January 6, 2016. Wishing you a warm and safe holiday.
