Whether your child is starting drums this month or preparing for a music school audition, the lesson rate stays the same. You choose the length that fits your schedule and budget, and your private-lesson teacher adjusts the focus and pacing to match where your child is right now.

What’s Included in Drum Lesson Cost

When families budget for drum lessons, they often focus only on the hourly rate. But what you’re paying for is the teacher’s training and experience, not just the room rental. Our private-lesson teachers hold university music degrees or the equivalent. Many have performed in Toronto orchestras, recording studios, and jazz ensembles. Drum lessons at ABC Academy also include access to our make-up policy. If your child misses a lesson due to illness or a scheduling conflict, we guarantee up to two make-up lessons per teaching year. If we need to cancel for a weather closure or a teacher absence, additional make-ups are available. (Group lessons, by contrast, do not offer make-ups.) This policy means your tuition dollars aren’t wasted if life gets in the way.

Music Together classes are for ages birth to age 5, with a caregiver present. Classes run in 10-week seasons and cost significantly less per week than private lessons because one teacher works with a group of families at once. Music Together focuses on singing, movement, and instrument exploration rather than technical skill. We also offer free demo classes so families can see if the program is a fit before committing.
