Musical experience in early childhood shapes how children process language for years afterward. Consistency matters more than the specific activity.
Music Together® in Bramalea: Classes for Toddlers and Caregivers
Music Together is a parent-child class for infants and toddlers from birth through age five. Parents and caregivers come along, and children learn music through singing, movement, and play. Unlike performance classes, there is no standing requirement and no audition. Your child doesn’t need to sing on cue or sit quietly. The goal is to build confidence and help children develop their musical ear.
Music Together sessions run in 10-week seasons. We offer a free demo class so you can try a session before you commit. Many families find they enjoy it as much as their children do.
Music Together at Our Brampton Studio
We hold Music Together classes at our Brampton studio, located near Bramalea and Queen. The studio is about ten minutes from Gore Meadows Community Centre and Bramalea City Centre, and close to Bramalea GO Station if you use transit.
Our classes are led by Trained Music Together teachers who are certified in the Music Together curriculum. Each class has a mix of infants, crawlers, and toddlers. Caregivers participate throughout. Parents often report that the songs stay with them long after class ends.
Why Start Music Early
Children’s brains develop rapidly in the first five years. Music is one of the most powerful tools for brain development at this stage. Singing together improves listening skills, language development, and memory. It also gives you and your child dedicated time together without screens or distractions.
Music Together keeps children engaged without pressure. There are no solos, no performance anxiety, and no judgment. Kids are free to explore sound in their own way and at their own pace.
What Happens After Music Together
When your child turns five, they can move into private music lessons. We offer piano, violin, voice, and other instruments at our Lawrence Park studio and our Conway studio. Private lessons are one-on-one and tailored to your child’s interests and learning style. Our private-lesson teachers hold university music degrees or the equivalent.
Some families do both for a season—Music Together in the mornings and private lessons in the afternoon—before moving to private lessons full-time. Others wait until their child asks to learn a specific instrument.
How to Get Started
Sign up for a free demo class on our website. The demo is the same length as a regular class so you can experience what it’s like. If your family enjoys it, you can enrol for the full season. Current rates are on our tuition page.
Music Together sessions run year-round in multiple seasons. We also have make-up options if you need to miss a class.
Questions About Music Together in Bramalea
- What age can my child start Music Together?
- Music Together begins at birth. Babies benefit from singing and movement, and the parent-child bond is central to the class.
- Do I need any musical background to attend?
- No. Many caregivers come with no music experience at all. The teacher guides the singing and movement, and you’re encouraged to participate at your own comfort level.
- What if my child doesn’t sit still or gets upset in class?
- That’s normal and expected. Toddlers explore, cry, and wander around. Teachers are used to this and continue the class without any performance pressure on your child. Wandering and exploring are part of the learning process.
- Is there a demo class, or do I have to enrol first?
- We always offer a free demo class. This lets you and your child get a feel for the room, the teacher, and the other families before you sign up for a season.
