Music Together® Class for Toddlers in Leaside
Music Together is designed for children birth to 5 with a parent or caregiver. It’s not recital-focused or instrument-intensive. Instead, it builds comfort with rhythm, pitch, and musical communication through songs, movement, and play.
Classes meet weekly in 10-week seasons. We offer a free demo class so you can sit in and see whether it fits your family’s pace. Most families find that Music Together gives caregivers confidence to sing at home, even if singing isn’t something you’ve done before.
Why Music Together for Your Toddler
Research shows that early exposure to music supports language development and listening skills. Music Together focuses on participating with your child, not on performance or pressure. The instruction is designed so that children aged 1, 3, and 5 can learn alongside each other in the same class, each at their own level.
Our classes are led by trained Music Together teachers. You’ll notice the approach is calm and repetitive—that’s intentional. Toddlers learn through familiar patterns and play.
Getting Started Near Leaside
Music Together classes run at our Lawrence Park studio, about 8 minutes from central Leaside near Bayview and Eglinton. Sessions are 10 weeks long, and we offer a free demo class before you enroll. Current rates and season schedules are available on our tuition page.
After your child turns 5, private lessons in piano, guitar, voice, or other instruments become an option at our Lawrence Park studio or our Conway studio. Private lessons at that age are fully optional—many families continue with group classes, and some move on to other activities.
What to Expect in Class
Each 45-minute session includes singing, movement, instrument exploration, and circle time. Your toddler might not participate actively every week—that’s normal at this age. Some children sit and listen for several weeks before joining in. The goal is comfort and exposure, not mastery.
We meet rain or shine. Weather closures are rare, and if they occur, make-up sessions are scheduled. Families are welcome to bring siblings or attend with different caregivers across weeks.

Does my child need any prior music experience?
No. Neither you nor your toddler needs any musical background. Music Together is designed for complete beginners. Caregivers sometimes worry they’ll “teach it wrong”—we’re there to guide, and repetition is the tool we use.
What if my child doesn’t want to sit still?
Toddlers move around and that’s expected. We have movement activities built into every class, and the room is safe for toddlers to explore. If your child prefers to move independently rather than sit, that’s fine—they’re still learning.
Can we try a free demo class first?
Yes. We offer one free trial class. You’ll sit alongside your child, and you can ask questions before or after. This is a strong way to see if the pace and format work for your family.
Do I need to buy anything?
No required purchases. We provide percussion instruments and props for class. You don’t need to own a piano or any music gear at home.
