Drum lessons for Corso Italia families
Kids who stick with drums usually have two things in common: a teacher who listens to what they actually want to play, and a realistic practice routine that doesn’t feel like punishment. At Corso Italia’s proximity to St. Clair and Dufferin, you’re close enough to make weekly lessons part of your week without it dominating your schedule.
Our St. Clair West studio at 12 Conway Ave is right in the neighbourhood, a few minutes from St. Clair and Dufferin. For families near Joseph J Piccininni CC, Earlscourt Park, or the St. Clair West Station area, it’s an easy weekly commute. Our private-lesson teachers hold university music degrees or the equivalent.
Drum lessons run 30 or 45 minutes. Current rates are on our tuition page. A 30-minute lesson is $55.38 and a 45-minute lesson is $64.81; a trial lesson is $20. Private drum lessons begin at age 5. If your child is under 5, we offer Music Together® group classes with a caregiver instead.

Frequently asked questions about drum lessons for Corso Italia families
- Does my child need their own drum kit at home?
- Not right away. Most students start with a practice pad, which costs much less and is quieter for apartment living. A full kit makes sense once the teacher sees they’re ready to move beyond basics.
- What happens when drum lessons get too loud for the neighbours?
- That’s a real question in Toronto neighbourhoods. A quality practice pad, or electric drums with headphones, solves this. Your teacher will advise on timing and setup that works for your home.
- Can my child learn pop or rock instead of classical?
- Yes. We work with students on the music they care about.
- What’s the make-up policy if we miss a lesson?
- We offer up to 2 guaranteed make-up lessons per teaching year for student absences. See our policies page for the full details.
