From Yonge and Eglinton, the Lawrence Park studio is about ten minutes north on Bayview Ave. Take Yonge north to Lawrence Ave E, turn right, and continue east to Bayview. The studio sits at 2180 Bayview Ave, at Lawrence and Bayview. A small parking lot is behind the building; a paid lot sits directly across Bayview; metered street parking is available on surrounding streets. Families near Eglinton Station or North Toronto Collegiate will find the drive consistent on weekday afternoons. The studio is steps from Lawrence Park Ravine, and Sunnybrook Park is a short walk east along Bayview. Bayview Village is a few minutes further north along the same road.
Piano lessons at the Lawrence Park studio follow a structured but unhurried approach. In the first three to six months, beginners learn to read both treble and bass clef notation, develop a relaxed hand position, and practise correct sitting posture at the keyboard. Teachers use the Alfred Basic Piano series with younger students and adapt for teens and adults. By month four, most beginners are playing simple two-hand pieces with a working grasp of rhythm, key signatures, and basic dynamics. Children age 5 and up start with 30-minute private lessons, which is the standard length for that age group. Teens and adults often find that 45 minutes allows enough time to work on technique, repertoire, and music theory in a single session. For students preparing for Royal Conservatory examinations, teachers cover all required components including ear training, sight reading, and etudes from the RCM syllabus. Recreational learners receive the same quality of teaching without any obligation to pursue exams.
