Congratulations on your improvements these last weeks, everyone! Here again are your assignments for the coming week:
David: Remember to keep the contact between your lower lip and the reed square, not pulling forward or back. Spend some time close to the mirror so your chin doesn’t move when tonguing. Polish up the “New Etude” in D, and start on the “Radetsky March”.
Aiden: Work on long notes, using only one muscle to move the air (not exactly true but you know what I mean). When you play the pieces, it should feel no different. Polish the “New Etude”; don’t slide the left index finger–use the other B-flat fingering. Start on “Turkey in the Straw”.
