Music Together® Classes in Toronto

ABC Academy of Music runs Music Together® classes from two central Toronto hubs — Lawrence Park and the Wychwood/St. Clair West area — serving families across 25 neighbourhoods citywide. Classes welcome children from birth through age five, with a caregiver attending every session. A full season runs 10 weeks; class fees are $99.97 per month, billed over three months, with a free demo class available before you commit. When children are ready to transition into private instrument lessons — piano, guitar, singing, and more — regular lessons are $55.38 (30 min) or $64.81 (45 min), and a trial lesson is $20. Our Music Together teachers hold university music degrees or equivalent conservatory credentials and complete the program’s own teacher training. Rating: 4.8★ from 150 students on Google.

What Happens in a Class

Every 45-minute session follows the same arc: a hello song that opens class, rhythm instruments, movement activities where caregivers carry or chase little ones around the circle, quieter lullaby moments, and a goodbye song that closes the same way each week. That structure is deliberate — young children build musical intuition the way they build language, through repeated exposure until they can anticipate and then reproduce the material. The same 10-week song collection runs the whole season; drop-ins interrupt that repetition, which is why we run full seasons, with a free demo class first.

Caregivers are active participants, not observers. An adult singing, clapping, and making eye contact does most of the developmental work for the child — singing ability is irrelevant, presence is what matters.

Birth through age five, with a caregiver at every session. Siblings in that range attend together. From age five onward, private instrument lessons in piano, guitar, singing, and more become a natural next step.
Caregivers are expected to participate actively — singing, clapping, making eye contact. Singing ability does not matter at all. Children at these ages learn music primarily by watching the adults they trust most.
An independent teacher may hold Music Together certification, but ABC Academy offers several things a solo practitioner typically cannot: multiple credentialed teachers so you’re not at risk if one is unavailable, a guaranteed teacher-match policy, and a second studio location (Brampton) for families who split time between the two cities.
Yes. Participation is never demanded, and the caregiver is present the whole time. A child who sits quietly watching for the first few classes is doing exactly what the program expects. There is no audition and no wrong way to be in the room.
